Subham Mondal is a practicing visual artist, researcher, and PhD scholar at IIT Kharagpur, working under the guidance of Prof. Priyadarshi Patnaik. He completed his BFA in Painting from the Government College of Art & Craft, Calcutta, West Bengal, and his MFA in Painting from the S. N. School of Arts and Communication, University of Hyderabad.

Before starting his PhD, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Painting Department at Bengaluru School of Visual Arts, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, and has also taught at other institutions. He was born in Purba Medinipur and raised in Jhargram, West Bengal.

Subham Mondal has been practicing art for nearly 20 years. His practice includes painting, drawing, watercolour, charcoal, oil pastel, acrylic, and other traditional mediums, as well as New Media Art. His New Media Art practice includes video art, digital art, computer graphics, animation, interactive art, sound art, Internet art, virtual art, and video games.

His current interests focus on the relationship between visual art, technology, interaction, and aesthetic experience. His work is inspired by artists and visual thinkers such as Leonardo da Vinci, J. M. W. Turner, Abanindranath Tagore, Paramjit Singh, and Roger Deakins.
